I have an Elan HD 4500 system with Z Pads throughout the house via CAT 5

I would like to replace the Z Pads with touchscreens and am familiar with Elan Via pads

I wonder if the new RTI K4 touchpanel would be compatile with the HD system instead of the Via Panels???

which would be better? I also heard there is a newer, less expensive Via panel coming out: or the Sonance panel?

any opinions would be appreciated

the K4 will run anything that can be controlled via IR or Serial, further, there are Ir codes in the Mega code data base that support the elan HD line.

The K4 Touchpanels will require the following wiring:

- (1) Cat 5 for control (12V, Data and Ground)

- (1) Cat 5 for Ethernet

- Up to (4) Coaxial cables for Video (four video inputs will be
supplied on the K4)

I have not heard anything about any new touch panels from sonance
