Just received the T3 remote.

Initial observations:
Power on/off switch near the battery.
A very bright display
Very fast page flips that scroll left and right
Graphics and colors look very crisp and clear
Light sensor
Buttons glow blue and amber
Comes with full layout (audio/video/lighting)

It is a great remote, however for installers with difficult clients, the lack of hard buttons (numeric, FFW, REW, Pause, etc) brings me back to the original selling point of the T2 5 years ago. Less page flipping and easier to use than a Pronto. The T2+ will be an easier remote to sell in smaller installtions.

The charger is wider to fit the larger remote.

The coolest thing is the graphics, partly done by GUI FX. I think you can add your own including pictures.

The Graphics were done by Noel Blackman of Guiwerx which is a partner of Guifx

Its based on the Crestron CT1000 Curacao template

Pretty Nice!!

can I have a T2+, T3, and RP-6 on one program for use in the same HT?

I am picking up my T3 today and was hoping I could use it in my HT to start which is set up with T2+/RP-6

then I wondered if the T3 will operate in a system with other devices

I assume I add the T3 as a new device so it works with the other devices? I understand I must program the T3

You can have multiple T2+s,T1s,T3s and even U1s in the same system using 3.0. The software will even allow for multiple RP6s.

Wow the T3 is a beautiful remote: just picked it up

now I am wondering how to proceed with the V3.0 software: I removed it from my PC after it crashed (after I imported my T2+/RP-6 program into V3, it would not open)

a suggestion was made to load V3 into a different registry, or there may be a patch: any suggestions?

I was thinking of using a different PC for V3 and importing my T2+/RP-6 into it to avoid any problems

got some help for the fix: thanks

I was concerned about less hard buttons on the T3 but the new screen is so fast changing menus and the tactile feel of the touchscreen is so good it may not be an issue

you scroll pages left/right with hard buttons or page jumps: up to 200 pages

the graphics are first class

the screen is large enough to operate a number keyboard easily on the touchscreen

excellent remote

What was the fix, Mark? I loaded the new software yesterday and was working on a T3 program... I walked away for a few minutes and my laptop did a re-start. Ever since I cannot pull up the RTI program. I have tried re-installing it several times to no avail! ARGGhh!
Thanks,
Darren

Darren

I tried to email this but it came back:

The TheaterTouch Designer 3.0 issue is
caused by starting TheaterTouch Designer 3.0 by double-clicking on a version
2.0 file, and then answering "No" to the prompt that asks you to convert the
file. A bug in TheaterTouch Designer causes it to save its last window
position in the registry incorrectly in this case. Until there is a new
version that corrects this problem, you can work around it by holding down
Ctrl + Shift while starting TheaterTouch Designer. A message box will come
up asking if you want to reset the window positions. Answer "Yes" and
TheaterTouch Designer will fix the corrupted registry setting.

Mark, does the fact that you have one now mean Key has them?

Told you you would like the screen.

Thanks. E. J.

yes: they seem to be available now

this remote ROCKS!: I think it may replace my T2+ remotes: the quick response time for hard and soft buttons is really impressive: perhaps the best remote of any brand

but you cannot simply import your T2+ programs so it will take some time to set up a new program and learn the features of v3.0

you get the impression I like the T3 !!!

more:

removing the old versions of software, running recovery for all 3 devices (T2+. T3, and RP-6's) and creating a new file with all 3 devices seems to work better

then you can open any/ all devices and copy/paste commands from the T2+ to the T3

my T3 home page now has 17 soft buttons: 9 with graphics for inputs: used Curacao 112x32 black bar buttons for 14 of them

the software is more stable: still had one more glitch requiring CTRL+ Shift to open the program but this time no loss of data: there is a firmware update for the T3 but it deals with some unrelated issues
