We need to get out of the regular programming of our Onkyo Integra product's prog. remotes and switch to one the 'pros' use. I have never used any type of computer aided 'edit' software to program a remote-why would RTI b the one of choice or would u guys recommend another brand. AVAD in dallas is having a RTI seminar this week and i would just like to get your input on the product since i am sure all of u 'used to use' other brands and must have switched for a VERY good reason. thx, alan in cc,tx 361 8577236 (audio video sales and service)

Alan, Our company does Crestron, Universal remote, Pronto and now the RTI remotes.

I had never done an RTI either and took a online class for the RTI and 2 weeks later jumped in the truck and drove 500 miles to install 2 T1's to start with to let the homeowner try them out. The both of them had RP-6's to go with them, It took me a few tries to get one up and running correctly but once I understood it the second took only a couple of hours and that included learning a few B&O commands. We are now going back to install 5-6 more in the house and 2 on his boat

I am thinking of a T2+ for my personal use now. Pretty easy stuff once you get started. The size is about right and does what you need it to do.

Download the software and play with it a bit and you will see how quick you will learn it.

The new remotes use a very different architecture than the old remotes; so understandably, the software could not be backward compatible with the older T2’s. I think everyone who has worked with the older remotes can agree that the change to the new system was worth it. I would hope though that RTI would continue to support and address the needs of those who own the older T2.

You can't go wrong with one of these remotes.

If you need a similar product in a lower price point for some clients, dig into the Home Theater Master forum here. You will find the MX-850 to be a tremendous bang for the buck.

There are others out there but I think they would be far down the list. The above mentioned remotes have the easiest to learn and use software on the planet, plus great customer support.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

My first introduction to RTI was through a client who insisted he wanted to try it (after many attempts to get him into a Pronto).

I figured out how to program the RTI's pretty quick (having done Crestron, Pronto, Marantz and many other remotes for years). In fact, I loved it so much, I decided to enquire about becoming a dealer, and bought one for myself. you just can't go wrong. the programming is fast, uploads to the remote are quick - and there is no way for someone else to steal your work by just downloading and tweaking your programming. Fantastic stuff.
