I was adding a second T2+ to a system. In doing so, the RP6 froze with the IR emitters on. Nothing works that I have read or seen to reset the RP6, although it just seems it is frozen.

I have disconnected the power for a short time (5-10 minutes) and I have sent the last known good system back to the RP6 without change...

Help?

This may be a stupid question, but did you also disconnect the usb cable before trying the unit? When you say frozen, are the lights all stuck on or do they flicker? Do the lights flash when you first plug it in? Did you try disconecting the antenna?

I did disconnect the usb cable. The emitters are frozen in the "on" state. RS232 commands do not work. Unplug and plug resets the ports, ans they flash through the system. There is a red light on power, a red light on signal, and a red light on high output. These lights are on regardless of whether on not the antenae wires are hooked up. If the unit is powered on...the red lights as described are on, and the emitters are illuminated...no flickering...just solid emitter light.

If you are using rs-232 you may need to do a firmware upgrade on the rp-6. Just a thought.

here is what RTI has on the website about the CM-232 control:

This firmware update fixes an issue that caused RS-232 communication using CM-232 modules to fail in some systems using more than one CM-232 with an RP-6.

there is an upgrade to ver. 1.01 that will resolve a few issues

Thank you for the responses. I updated the firmware as suggested, but it does not seem to impact the situation IR lights still are frozen in on state. However, I think this may be a hardware problem and not a programming issue as the firmware update deletes all programming stored on the IP6. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have a 12 volt short in a logic circuit, take the unit back and get a replacement.

I haven't used the RS-232 with the RP-6, but have had the same "all emitters on and high output on". In my case it usually relates to a faulty connection on the IR in and Ground/ 12 v connection. I use Sonance K2 pads with the RP-6 frequently, and just a miswired input or ground touching IR or IR touching 12 v will cause the problems you describe.

I power everything down and remove all connections and start connecting them up one by one to find the culprit. I hope this shines any light on your problem, but it does sound like a bad RP-6 .
