Hey guys,
I'm run an AV install business in Sydney, Aus and have been programming the RTI's for about 6 months now. I got hold of a T2+ for myself about 3 months ago and programmed it for my system at home. It has worked flawlessly for the whole time, but this evening, my wife (the whole reason I got the T2+ - it is so easy to use even she can work it out without having to ask!) said it wasn't working. When I checked it out, I noticed the following -

Volume and channel change buttons seem to "stick" They don't physially stick, but they keep repeating as if you are holding them down. So if I press CH+ whilst on cable, the channels will keep going up until I press it again. Same for volume in both directions.

Sometimes the hard buttons wont respond, sometimes the LCD buttons wont respond, sometimes, nothing responds...

Thought the software might need to be reloaded, so I did that, and no change. I then unplugged the battery, leaving it for about 20 mins, and replugged it in. Still the same thing. Finally, I got on the RTI site and logged in, hoping to find a firmware update that may fix it, but alas, no....

So if anyone has any ideas before I call my RTI rep and send it off (something I don't want to do as my wife will then use me as the RTI remote...) please, let me know..
thanks,

Z...

seems strange

could it be there is some other source that is creating IR noise or interference and making it seem like it is the remote?

Thanks for the reply - I was actually playing around last night, and dug out the original remotes for everything, and found that the cable box and amp still do the same thing with the original remotes. So, it just adds to the mystery, as nothing has changed in the room for months.

I'll be taking the remote to a clients place who also has a T2+, will load it with his program and check it out there, that at least will clear the T2+.

Will let you guys know what the solution is, just in case someone has a similar problem oneday. Tell you what, glad this is at home, not a clients place, I can live with manual button presses for a while, clients are not so easy to cater for :)

it seems you already eliminated the T2+ as the cause

I saw the same thing happen after I added a pryamid IR repeater in front of my equipment rack

my guess is something did change in your room

Well, I found the problem this morning. After searching hi and low for changes, I sat down on the couch and noticed that the remote for the TV was on the coffee table, upsode down, facing the system...

It also had some magazines piled on it, and the volume down button was being held down. Removed the remote and voila! All working perfectly again. After 10 years of installs, I get stumped by something so simple. Can't believe it.. :)

thanks for the help guys :)
