I am having a problem programming a new RTI T2+ remote control. We have two of these units and both of them are having the same problem. I am using TheaterTouch ver 2.01.530.
We are setting up a new A/V system with Arcam DV78 DVD player, an Arcam AVR 300 receiver, an Escient Fireball Media Manager and a Samsung SIR-TS360 satellite receiver. I learned in the IR codes from the various remotes using the IR-Pro from RTI. I then created a program with all the proper IR codes. When testing the T2+ unit, all the units functioned properly except for the AVR300. The AVR300 executed none of the remote commands. All of the other units performed the functions expected.
As I started troubleshooting one course of action was to relearn the IR codes for the AVR300. I noticed that the frequencies learned changed a little each time I tried learning the codes again. The variation was not that large—from 36.1kHz to 36.4kHz. I then tried creating a T2+ program with just the on/off function for just the AVR300. Again no response whatsoever from the receiver.
At this time I contacted RTI support. He suggested changing the number of repeat tries. I tried from 1 to 12 repeats and still no response from the AVR300. I tried programming the second T2+ with the same results.
We received a URC100 universal remote with the plasma screen to be used for this installation. I tried programming that remote with the Arcam IR codes. That remote controlled the AVR300 perfectly. So then I tried learning the IR codes from the URC100 and used those codes to program the T2+. Again no response from the AVR300.
The AVR300 works fine with the original remote and the URC100 remote but not the T2+. All the remotes control all the other components perfectly. Changing the number of repeat tries failed to solve the problem. Another T2+ failed to solve the problem. Changing the programming failed to work.
This install is supposed to be at the end of this week. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. If anybody has a good set of IR codes for the AVR300 and would like to email those to me I would be most appreciative.

Thanks
Chip

Did you use an IR Pro to try and learn the codes?

You are supposed to position the remote you are learning during the capture test phase in such a way that the frequency stays consistent before you move on to the actual IR capture phase of the operation.

Further, the pronto version you can steal the hex codes out of is located here:

I know its a 200 and not a 300 but it will probobly work fine

I have used a T2 with IRF6 and T2+ with RP 6 with an Arcam DV27. The Arcam was singly the worst piece of equipment I have tried to program. The RC 5 codes I eventually had to calculate, although I used them by direct input to the IR input in the back (with the T2). With the T2+ I just gave in and started using the IR emitter in the front.

The best piece of equipment you can buy to solve this problem is the RTI IR Pro. It is well worth it's cost. Arcam is very tricky with it's IR codes, and the IR Pro does an excellent job of capturing them.
