I put an antenna under a hardwood floor attached to a joist. Has anyone had any success doing this or should I move the antenna? The manual recommends mounting the antenna 4-6 ft. high, but past rf experience leads me to believe this is not necessary for good reception.

I've had success with this in two instances. Though I mounted the antennas directly below the main areas of use. I still got reliable RF reception 20 feet away but got spotty reception anywhere beyond that. That was with RTI Installer's BNC modification. I have since hooked up a Channel Master 4228 to the bad boy in the attic works like a champ anywhere in or outsite of the house
