Take into account you are an experienced programmer with other touch screens, elan, pronto that sort of thing. About how much is everybody out there been charged, or charging for programming a T2 with about 5 components?

13 million for a low ball figure. Take into account you think of million different than I do.

How about $55.00 per hour with a $150.00 minimum. But really, what you can charge is totaly dependant on what part of the planet you live and work on.

I charge a $200.00 flat rate for most systems. That is just a T2 or T2+ controlling Home Theater w/ 1 or 2 zones.

Are you charging full retail for the remote then?

Sounds like a give away to me...if you call Tweeter, or any other big box retailer that moves customizable remotes, they will charge $400 for 5 components(one page per component), and like $60 for each additional page. Don't give it away guys, we worked hard to know what we know!!!

Charge whatever the market will bear.
I have found that burying the remote and it's programming charges into the system pricing makes that pill easier to swallow.
Otherwise, clients will see that as an easy item to delete to help them get to a budget point.
I would rather step the receiver or DVD down a level than work with another remote (or, gasp... a Pronto)
One of my old clients that was considering replacing 2 TSU-1000 Prontos with new RTIs said that he would spend $150 or maybe even $200 on a remote if it worked better than those old unreliable touchscreens... I had to bite my tongue... after all, I sold him those old unreliable touchscreens at $400 ea. plus programming.
He got two T2+s with two RP-6s in addition to the new flat panel plasma and upgraded receiver and he never saw the final breakdown of the bill.

People actually charge for writing a couple of macros? I guess logitech will win people over very soon eh?

There's an enormous (and getting bigger) market for programming Harmony remotes. It's still a very unfriendly remote for most people to set up. Most people can use one though - which can also be said of the T2 and others. Of course it's not like programminga Pronto which is a giant excercise in time wasting (much easier and effective to change other pre-made configurations).

We charge $200.00 for basic T1 programming, and $350.00 for basic T2+ progamming. for custom systems (large) we charge $90 per hour. and try to estimate how many hours we feel it will take. Some CUstom systems with lots of macros and tric features can still take 10-20 hours even starting form a template we built. We have done over 100 T2+'s so we have quite a library to start from. Once you hve a number of these remotes programmed it really gets fast.

Sorry about the spelling above I was in a hurry. As for the Harmony remote we sold them in our retail store for about 2 years. Not bad for a couple hundred dollars. But it's not very reliable over all and lots or little problems with the displays and backlighting. It is more of a first time users toy. Now our retail division just sells the T1 and an pre-programmed package. its great and very reliable. We have never taken one back.

No, don't bet any money on it. Read elsewhere on the Harmony remotes. Like another poster said, they are a good first time remote or toy for some, but they are not nearly as powerful as a good MX-850, T2+, or even a Pronto.

Common complaints are those itty bitty buttons stuck so close together, a dim, small hard to read LCD - anyway, it's fine for some but leaves a lot to be desired for serious customization and automation.

I charge $200 for the first component and $150 for each that follows.....yes I also charge for a plasma and iPod.

In your case: Plasma, DVD, VHS, DSS, Receiver = "starting at" $800 for programming

BTW: Includes all macros with discrete power on/off, custom graphics and over 90 channel icons.
