Ok so now I want to add a second RP-6 in another equipment closet near the main: it is to be controlled by the common T2+ remotes

I go into device/add device/ but the RP-6 is greyed out

I tried to change the zone code to other than 0 but that does not help: manual says I can add 256 separate control systems

This is because you need to program additional RP-6s separately. Do a file new, then do a "device" "import” select your file.rti (program you are currently working on). Then add a new device (RP-6) when you are done programming, upload this to the second RP6. make sure you save this under a different name like 09062004 my work2

just bought an RP-6 and two T2+. I also bough the RF adaptor for the RP-6. I am changing my programming from discrete IR codes from the remote to an RF command to the RP-6 and then letting it handle the IR codes to the various components. I have never done this before. Anyone have any suggestions on how to model the programming? What to program and how? Any tips or suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Gareth,

I am assuming that the RP-6 is connected with emitters to the IR devices. In this case create your commands as system macro and then call them from a button. If all the commands are in the system macro than leave the Output button properties as Default and then simply call the macro. If you want to mix an IR command from the remote with RF commands then:

Under button properties set to Standalone
Create the first batch of rf commands (before the IR command) as a system macro and call this macro
Execute the IR command
Create the second batch of rf commands (after the IR command) as a system macro and call this macro

I got the 20.1.530 firmware update and it resolved a couple of issues: I can now cut & paste a button with macros without crashing the program, and I can select assignable outputs on the RP-6 on an IR command: progress

But, I cannot add a second RP-6: even following the instructions above: it says I cannot do it

You cannot add additional discrete RP-6's!

Finally got a straight answer by speaking with Matt at RTI

My old system consisted of the T2 and three IRF-6's: I could address each one discretely

The new T2+ system will only allow for ONE RP-6 address according to RTI: major bummer

Update:

I received a reply from RTI that they do plan on fixing the software to support multiple RP-6's that can be controlled by a T2+, but they were vague on when the fix would be completed: I heard first quarter 2005
