I am having trouble getting the DTronics DS-41R DVI switcher to work via RS232 from the IRF-6

It says it uses pins 2 & 3 on the serial connector

I have all the settings correct: there are RS232 TX/RX LED's on the switcher to show communications and there is no response when I send a string via the CM-232

Any ideas? I may need to change the pin connections: where would I do that?

Post one of your code stings for the DTronics DS-41R DVI switcher so we can look at it.

Have you tried using a null modem interface? You usually have to use one of these with just about every every device that has bi-directional communication.

Thanks

the code strings are easy according to the manual:

"@001"
"@002"
"@003"
"@004"

I am using the CM-232 plugged into the switch via a gender changer

The problem is the LED RX light does not light, so I don't think it is the string

Good idea about the null modem cable: I will try that

I use the same setup with a Key Digital Flash matrix switcher and it works great via one way RS232 (without a null modem) with a typical code string of

"cc14"

For now I am using IR discretes with the DTronics until I can get RS232 to work

Hi - any chance you could send me your discrete codes for your dtronics DVI switcher. My TSU3000 can't seem to learn the 4 codes properly...

Thanks,
Steve

These are RS-232 codes, not IR. Not Compatable with a TSU-3000

My Pronto TSU7000 can't seem to learn the DTronic 4x1 DVI switch IR codes. Any chance you could post them?

Sorry I don't have the codes any more

However they are listed in the index here for Marantz/Phillips so you should be able to find them in the files(third listing down)

Awesome, thanks! That's what I've been looking for. I just cut and pasted the IR codes into my TSU7000 and it worked well. I have found I get more reliable results if I repeat these codes in a macro.

In case it helps anyone else, here are the codes from that file:

Has anyone had consistent success controlling the DTronics DVI switch with a Pronto? The above codes only work sporadically for and having my Pronto learn them has been an abysmal failure. Has anyone else had greater success?
