I purchased a used T2 Theatertouch remote on ebay. The seller did not include the serial cable needed for programming. I was wondering if someone has a spare they could sell me for cheap. RTI wants $59.00 for this cable. Also if anybody can get spare batteries for below cost as well, RTI also wants $59.00 for a spare battery.

Thanks,
Ken

|"if anybody can get spare batteries for below cost as well"

You did not post your e-mail address.

So how much did you pay for the remote?

Further, I am sure someone can sell you a cable and battery for a reasonable price, but I want you to consider that this is not value village, and the simple task of traveling to the supplier and shipper, takes time and fuel. $59.00 for a battery is not a lot of money when you consider whoever sells it to you, also has to guarantee that product, as well as process and file some paperwork etc..

If I am wrong on this issue I stand corrected. But I am tired of the mentality floating around where by people purchase all of their home theater needs from Best Buy /ebay and then try to get me to install the stuff at a discount.

I thought that forums were suppose to help people, not lash out at them. I least I know where you stand. I am not asking for a handout, just help. With this attitude, I would not want you to install anything of mine. Thanks for nothing.
By the way, for everyone else, I uploaded a file with some icons that I made for the T2. Also, I uploaded codes for Kenwood reciever VR2080, and kenwood 200 disk cd changer cd-2260m. Macros with button tests as well as some custom designed buttons as well.
Enjoy

Like I said above.

I have helped out people who needed cables and darn near every other RTI part in the past and no they did not pay full retail.

You gave no email address,

You want stuff below cost,

Hmmm-

Most Legitimate RTI dealers are overworked and short on time. We are also very leery of people who use the phrase "under cost". If you read the back posts here, you will see that I can be your best friend, or I can completely ignore you. You will also see that there are a lot of other helpful very knowledgeable folks who check in on this forum, whom I might add have probably already read your plea and chose to ignore it.

If you had used the phrase "I am not asking for a handout, just help" in the first place I am sure someone would have jumped right in.

I have a spare battery, programming cable and a charger if needed. If you would like the programming cable it will be 20.00. If you would like a battery it will be 35.00. If you need a charger it will be 35.00. I am selling because I have leftover stock, I do not need anymore. I only have a couple of sets so if you would like email me

Well, Let his be a valuable lesson as why you should purchase your items from a PROFESSIONAL installer or PROFESSIONAL place of retail. In you effort to be cheap, you have encountered great cost and aggravation. Will you make the same stupid mistake again?? Probably since someone is coming to your rescue.

Oex,

Hommetheater helped me as a fellow hobbist. That is what forums are all about. Your attitude shows that you would rather lavish in others sorrows than to help. The attitude that I have been shown in this forum is obvious that people like yourself linger in the shadows waiting for a helpless individual to be taken advantage of and make an example of them. The valuable lesson that I see is that when a person needs help, lets all get on the banwagon and bash this individual. Why, because he did not buy from me. Boo Hoo. Cry me a river, build me a bridge, and get over it! As far as being cheap and have encountered great cost and aggrivation, that is your opinion. The only aggrivation I have encountered is from this forum and from people such as yourself.

Ok Hold on everybody, Nyther came back in his second post and asked for help "I am not asking for a handout, just help" Hommetheater, responded to this and helped him out! End of story.

There is nothing wrong with buying products on ebay, all that erks me is when people try and finagle things for cost. Nyther came back and said that he was not trying to do this, which is good enough for me. If he has any further questions I am always glad to help anyone who is wiling to listen with a respectful ear.

Nyther, This is not a bash the new guy forum, please check some of the back postings, you will find all kinds of very useful information and helpful people here. So if you need help with your T2 you will more than likely find it here.
