I have a T2 that fell from the sofa to the wood floor (16 inches). It went from operating marginally to only having 3 feet of RF range. Can this unit be repaired?

Yes, most of the time the IR emitter just comes loose from the PC board and all you have to do is re-heat the solder points. Even small cracks in the solder will diminish the IR output.

Opps Sorry, I need glasses.

If you or someone you know is good at soldering, you could try touching up the solder points around the splatch antenna and the transmit chip, I have had some luck with this in the past.

On the other hand if the remote is still under warrantee RTI will probably help you out. Otherwise RTI will probably suggest a swap for a rebuilt unit in the $150.00 + range + Shipping
