Hi, I have been a happy used of the T2 for about 3 years now and just tonight I picked it up and found that none of my equipment was responding to the remote :( The screen still works, it behaves exactly like it is still functioning properly but no go.

I have tried clearing it, reloading the software and still it doesn't work. Every single command programmed into does't work. I'm assuming it's something to do with the IR output.

Has anyone run into this before? Does anyone know if RTI replacing out of warranty remotes for problems other than the screen problem? I could see myself buying another one if I could get RTI to replace it for $150 but no way would I buy another one with the potential reliability problems. It's a shame really, the functionality of this thing it superb.

Some of the older remotes had problems with their displays and IR transmitters

Give them a call I am sure they will take care of you.

I recently had my part of my screen go bad and freezing of commands in the RF/IR mode. I called and spoke to service tech. I was nice and he was very nice. He said send in the remote and IR-6 for repair and new firmware. The IR-6 turned out to have no problem. The T2 had a new LCD replace, new firmware and who know what else. It cost $50 plus shipping for about $65 total. Now the remote works better than it ever did. I think the firmware made a differce. The remote is very responsive even in the RF mode. I may add a new T2+ when they come out.

Hmmm, I didn't even consider that they could fix it. That makes me feel much better. I will talk to them Monday. Thanks for the replies!
