I'm trying to setup a T2 with an IRF-6 and a Philips TV. I am looking to solve a problem of knowing when the Philips is on a particular AV Input ie AV2, AV3, AV4 etc. I am not sure if the Video Sync modules will do the job or not. If anyone has some input, ideas, tips, or the exact design please let me know.

Thanks

Matthew

The Video Sync modules are used to let the IRF 6 know if the device is on or off when you are forced to use toggle power commands. It cannot determine which input a TV is on.

I haven't seen any discrete input selection commands for Philips TV's but maybe someone else in here has.

If you can't find them, there may be one work around for your problem.

Many TV sets will automatically revert back to their tuner if you enter a channel number or hit channel up or down. If yours does, that will give you a known state to start from. You can build a macro that starts with Channel up.... then issue the number of input commands needed to reach the desire input.
