At CEDIA RTI is showing three new models: the T1 (hard buttons only), T2+ (T2 with a new case and more memory) and the T3 (color remote with a more PDA shape). More details later...

Any other updates? Did anyone get a picture of the T2+? Release dates? I don't have alot of use for a color T3, but an improved T2 with improved RF would be quite interesting.

Thanks for the info Daniel. Based upon the pics in your video, I am not too impressed. Same button config as the T2. More reliable RF will have to be their selling point other than their fantastic software.

I really couldn't get a good view of it, either on camera or in person. The remote was behind plastic, with a bright light shining on it. However, it claims that it's a transflective display, and typically those are pretty good (at least my transflective PDA certainly is).

Kevin indicated to me that the release on the T1 / T2+ would be after the 1st of the year, the two they were showing were early prototypes as evidenced by the paint jobs. The T3 was expected sometime during 1st Q 2004 if I recall correctly.

I like the new RP-6 controller with the multiple remote RF receivers. I've got one for beta testing and have been very happy with it so far. All the macros get stripped off the remote in the programmer and downloaded right to the 'RP-6. The T2 just triggers them. I'm looking forward to getting one installed into a house where I need multiple RF receivers to see how that works out.

IRF-6+ now has an IR output terminal for connection to a repeater system or other devices as well as a straight BNC jack on the unit for antenna instead of a long cord.

Version 2 of the Theatertouch software is also very cool, lots of new features including global keys. Its very similar to the Sonance Navigator K2 software since RTI is doing all of Sonance's new remote development.

Are the new IRF-6 controllers and V2 software backward compatible with the previous T2 models?

Thanks,

Has anyone close to RTI heard any more news as to when these new models might be available?

Thanks,
Greg
