I've read the threads about moving stand alone macros to system macros.

I use RTI T1-B+ remote controls for what amounts to button presses only. When a button is pressed, an RS232 command is sent to my automation system via XP-6 serial connection (from Port 1 of XP-6 to a CM-232 to a Global Cache GC-100-18R). All buttons are in format:

/ROOM/Entertainment/Device/DEVICE_NAME/Command#COMMAND_NAME\r\n

Example:

/Patio/Entertainment/Device/AppleTV01/Command#Menu\r\n

My automation system then receives this command which was "taught" to it. In this case, the command that was taught is /Patio/Entertainment/Device/AppleTV01/Command and the word after the # is used as a parameter.

In this case, is it worth it to move from standalone macros stored on the remotes to system macros stored on the XP-6?
