Just wondering if you guys would be interested in throwing out some numbers on Denon and Marantz receivers and surround pre/pros, as far as failures both out of the box and/or shortly thereafter. Just had my Marantz 7702 crap out and another 1 year old Denon crap out on my client.

No doubt that like other products, the parts and workmanship on AVR's, in general, have degraded over time. We have had pretty good success with Yamaha, Marantz, and Sony. Denon and Onkyo have had higher repair rates for us. I would say that your situation is not typical and make sure there are not other factors contributing to the failure such as extreme heat, ventilation, etc.
