I have a T2X connected to WiFi, but can't figure out how to update programming wirelessly. An XP6 is wired and includes an "allow this device to be programmed over the network" device property. There is no such option for the T2X.

Marketing literature specially mentions wireless updates for T2X, so I am confused.

Thanks for any guidance.

What options do you see when you send to device ?
XP-6 Ethernet
T2-X USB
??

If the T2-X is USB click it and select it from the list if it is on the network.

Thanks for the reply. I see only USB for the T2X. Was hoping that I could update it without having to connect it to a computer.

You clicked the word USB under Target?

I have a project open and can click the word USB and the option window pops up.
I do not have a remote available to select as I do not have one on the network.
If I did it would appear in this window.

Although I setup the T2x with the WiFi network ID and password, the unit is not connected to the network. I looked for its Mac address on the router and a 3rd-party utility.

I also did click on "USB" as you suggest, but there are no units listed as connected to the network.

I just noticed the following on the RTI site: "Can be remotely updated wirelessly from offsite (future support)." Not sure if "future support" is still correct.

Sounds like the T2x is NOT on the network.

Right-click on the T2x in Integration Designer; go to the 802.11 tab. Check that "Enable Wireless Network Adapter" and "Enable Wireless LAN Status LED" are both selected. In the "Network Name (SSID) box, check that you have entered the SSID and password of your wireless network correctly (case matters!). Go to the "Network" tab and make sure that "Use DHCP to configure networking" is selected.

Then upload via USB to the T2x so that those settings will be loaded. Let it reboot, and then scan the network from a device connected to the same wireless network (use an iOS or Android device running Fing). You should see the Status LED on the T2x lit, and be able to find the T2x MAC and IP address listed in your network scan.

Peter, thanks very much. Thanks to your tips, I discovered that WPA instead of WPA2 was selected in device properties. However, after correcting this, making sure that the SSID and passphrase were correct and using Fing, the T2X still doesn't connect. In the control panel on the remote, I see mode = DHCP; DNS is set to the correct IP and the SSID is correct. However, the unit's IP address and mask are both 0.0.0.0.

Greatly appreciate any further ideas you might share.

I believe the remote needs to be in the charging dock to do a wireless update. I just worked with one thursday and loaded fine while docked.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

it does not have to be in the dock, but it makes it easier for the program to find it

initially you have to download the program to the T2X by USB and ensure the wifi indicator comes on

then you can do a wireless update; be sure the T2X is awake and the wifi light is on

I have several T2X and once set up properly, no wifi issues (it does take a few seconds for the wifi to connect after wakeup)

Thanks for your feedback!

While in the dock after a USB update, the Wi-Fi light does not illuminate. Wi-Fi does show as enabled in the T2X control panel. Weird.

At the initial setting and download. You'll need to use USB, but make sure the T2X's WiFi property is set correctly.

Also wake up the remote prior to download the new configuration.
