Hi,

My T2 seems to loose IR range when our wood stove is burning in the same room, is this common?

If I send it back to RTI for service can they fix it?

Sounds like the IR is being interfered with that being generated by the wood stove.
Have you ever seen infrared pictures before? If you have, you probably remember what happens when the camera is pointed at an extreme heat source, everything washes out.

Probably does the same thing to remote IR.

Yeah, I guess the weak IR output from the T2 just dies. The normal Sony remote works fine when we are burning wood but the T2 can't hack it. I remember seeing IR pictures here comparing the IR output of the remotes and the T2 was pretty weak.

If it continues I will just have to run an IR emitter over to the tv next winter :)
