New to RTI here so go easy... I'll be starting a small project consisting of 4 Samsung TV's in various rooms on the 1st floor where all set-top boxes will be in a central IT closet 2 floors up. Control will be via wall mounted ipads and most likely a T3x remote. Is there an alternative to using IR for controlling the TV's from the AV rack in the closet? IF IR is the best method, which product do you guys like best?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, there is a driver available which takes advantage of Samsung's Ex-Link port in back which is basically a 3.5 to serial port. There is a proprietary cable you can order from Samsung although many guys make them on their own. Control is not inclusive of all commands, however, all discrete power and inputs make for great control. If you want some of the Smart Hub commands you may have to go IR. Rarely do my customers use those features anyway.
If you are new to RTI consider SONY KDL B & C series televisions. RTI just came out with a driver that works great.
