Has anyone successfully integrated control of Sonos that eliminated the need for the Sonos app? I programmed a system with the Sonos driver when they first released it but was only able to get metadata feedback with basic transport control so in order to use all of Sonos's features I had to create an app jump to open the Sonos app in order to get full functionality. I am designing a system from ground up with a client who had Sonos in his old house and am contemplating using Sonos but my gut feeling is to use an Autonomic or Fusion media server in order to get full integration capability. I am not a fan of having to toggle between apps so I want to make sure if I go down the Sonos road it will function as intended. Thanks!

Simply put, you can do a lot with the Sonos driver, but you can not replace the Sonos App and everything in the app.

It's nice to be able to control Sonos from a 3rd party App. Volume control would be especially nice, but it is a large job to duplicate the Sonos interface. The Sonos controller can be directly called from another App and a simple four finger swipe can return to the calling App.

While not quite as satisfying to the developer's ego as mirroring the Sonos controller, the customer could have full Sonos control following a minimal effort by the 3rd party developer.
