my customer currently has a town and country fire place with af-4000pewm keypad, some how it is hooked to his older URC remote. im trying to integrate it into an ipad based remote with an xp-3. Anyone have any ideas. [Link: townandcountryfireplaces.net]

We are working on a house now with several of the T&C fireplaces...They told us we cant control them. Seems they are wrong and we need a few of the transmitters from the PDF listed above.

I just did one last month. They use a wireless contact interface that you can wire your closure to and then it communicates with its controller wireless. Seems like a silly solution until you consider the retrofit possibilities.
There also seems to be a timeout on the relay. I have a Lutron system controlling it and it automatically goes off after a couple of hours with a sustained closed contact.
