According to RTI's cut sheet, the RKM-1+ has "IR output port drives up to 1000 feet of wire for standalone control". Could this be used to feed IR to an MSC400 without the need for a control processor? I'm just trying to get one-way control of a second (and possibly third) zone.
You can send it commands without a processor from the rkm1. I'm not familiar with a MSC400 but if it is something that can be IR controlled then yes the rkm1 will send ir codes directly and you can use the codes to control this device.
Looking at the RKM-1+ manual, I don't see an "IR output port". Would I just use certain pins off the RJ45 control port? Which ones? BTW, the MSC400 is a URC controller that allows IR input.

One way you could accomplish this is by doing the following:
- Enable IR Pass-through on your RTI control processor
- Wire the RKM-1+ normally; enable IR trigger codes in RTI software.
- connect a mono plug from the port on the processor where pass through is enabled to the MSC-400 IR In. NOTE: The MSC-400 IR In cannot be routed and will pass IR out to all emitters.
