Does anyone know what the problem is wit the T2 remote. I received a new one a few days ago and it lasted a whole 2 days!!!! I have had 5 remotes and all 5 had a life expectancy less than 2 weeks! The last serial number was in the 500k mark!

I am an engineer and I will understand all the technical stuff. I am just looking for a straight answer of why RTI can not produce a reliable product! I am thinking of going to the MX 700.

Am I the only one who is experiencing these types of problems?

thanks

Just curious but what went wrong? We have replaced almost all of our defective remotes and the new ones are performing perfectly.

This is a simple question to answer... The screen goes blank!!! The whole screen turns a dark blue. And with the latest one and screen scrambles little a mosaic puzzle the after and few button selections it goes blank. The scrambling is a new issue than the other 4 remotes but the end result is the same... a blank screen and a unreliable remote in less than 2 week in operation.

Granite... the first 2 were in the bad LCD phase...but the last 3 were 14k serial and up!!! What is the issue? Why is the LCD screen blanking on me? How are these remotes assembled? Robots or Humans interface?

Thanks

Can only provide our experiences..... we did go through the bad LCD phase... a little frustrating, but I have to give the folks at RTI an A Plus for taking care of our customers with very prompt exchanges, no questions asked.

We have sold quite a few of the units and have had almost no problems at all since the LCD issue. They have been very reliable overall.

Considering the capabilities of the remote and the fact that the manufacturer doesn't run off and hide, I would sure think twice before changing to another unit.

Before someone else writes it, yes, I know it can be hard to contact the factory at times. I think their business grew much faster than they anticipated, but they are reachable and we have had zero hassle getting our customers taken care of..... that is pretty valuable these days.

Yes, RTI did go through a bad batch of LCD screens with one supplier. To make matters worse, the screens were not DOA but worked fine for a few weeks. RTI acknowledged the problem and (as Warren noted) exchanged every one of them no questions asked. If we sent the remote in next day air, they sent the exchange unit back next day air - freight paid.

RTI has now worked through the screen problem and the last dozen or so have been fine. We stuck with them through their "tough times" because there is nothing on the market anywhere near their price that does so much and is so well thought out. Pronto is not even in the same ball park.

I think the RTI problem issues are over for now. Black Ice did RTI give you any trouble replacing your defective? My guess is no. Hang with them, if you don't you'll be sorry. For the money spent, I have not seen a better bargin.....
