I am shooting IR commands from a T2C through an RP6. I recently installed a Tivo Roamio. The same commands from the previous Tivo (a Series3 HD) are compatible, but the Roamio often interprets a single command as a series of repeats.

I loaded the system file into Integration Designer and changed the default min-repeat from 1 to 0, but that did not help.

The output strength on the RP6 is dialed down to the minimum (counter-clockwise).

Ironically, RTI-branded IR emitters were too weak for the Roamio to detect at all. I had some old spares I had bought from SmartHome that I knew were significantly more powerful, but it appears they may overdrive -- although the programmer in me thinks this looks more like a key-debounce problem than power level.

Any tips for trying to fix this? The T2C is almost unusable, and the RF remote that ships with the Roamio is laughably underpowered and usually can't reach the AV closet at all.

Good luck trying that with an RP6...

I have the same set up at home and am using TiVo Digital Recorder
Series 3 Unit 0 with no issues. I have Speakercraft emittters for what this worth. I am not sure what the TiVo IR gain is set to, probably all the way up.

Yeah my older Tivo would happily accept any old thing. Trying to figure out how to jury-rig something to hold the emitter sort of out in the air in front of the receiver.

Hmm, somewhere I have a smoked-plastic UV filter from back when I was using remote-mount IR receivers... I bet one of those between the emitter and the receiver would tone things down.

Try the file I mentioned. I had a different TiVo file loaded and my wife found some bugs. No double hitting issues that I recall. So I just changed it to the one mentioned above. Also use a flashlight to confirm the TiVo IR receiver. I did not do anything special when I gave Comcrap their box back...

Oh, I thought you meant your Tivo was a Series 3.
Series 3 Unit 0 is the same IR command set I've been using all along.

Hmmm, try another emitter or port on the RP-6. I left the IR file as default and it worked fine. On the new Roamio.

You can try placing emitter to left or right slightly from the target in the roamio, try making sure sustain is turned off, play with output on rp6 and if all else fails relearn the codes from the new remote into ID with the IR-pro.

Although setting min-repeat to 0 didn't help, completely disabling sustain did work.

Haven't tried moving the emitter yet, though that's an obvious next step. Been couch-bound due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Is there no way to control the delay before repeat begins?
