My RTI stopped automatically turning on my receiver when I turn the TV on. So, the TV comes on but the sound does not. I have to manually turn on the receiver to listen to sound and then my RTI remote does not work and I can't change the station or use any functions. Does anyone have any recommendations? It worked just the other day and to my knowledge, I haven't done anything to the remote or the system.

Thanks!

There is too much missing information to ascertain where your problem lies.

What RTI remote do you have ?
Do you have a processor ?

What AV amp of you have ?
How is said amp being controlled ?

Did you do this yourself or did you have a authorised dealer do the install ? If the latter is the case why don't you make a service call to your installer?

Any chance the little "bug" on front of the AVR was bumped or pulled off? That is where I would look first. 2nd would be on the back, either a mini plug or db-9 into the back of the unit could of also come loose.

You also mention you can't change channels, is that referring to a cable/satellite box that also can no longer be controlled?

If you have a RTI processor verify it's powered up and if so try rebooting it. Make sure you see the antenna light flashing when you push buttons on remote.

If you have IR target and emitters check the target is flashing when you press buttons on remote.

Either way check the IR emitters are properly placed on the equipment. Even being half of an inch from where it should be will cause it to not work!
