Matt and the guys have released an AppleTV driver for the XP series processors.

It will run on an older XP-8 but is not recommended due to its CPU usage.
Cover art is provided by an outside source thru the driver a well.

Learn more at their website www.mydevice.com.au or direct to the driver page here [Link: mydevice.com.au]

I loaded it up on my XP-8 to play with it a bit and for the few minutes I spent with it it was working as it should. It has a free trial of the driver for one hour then it locks up. A reset will get it operational again if you want to test it out more. Buy the license and have full access with no timeouts.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

This driver works extremely well and is an incredible effort. Considering Matt has been able to reverse this driver without assistance from Apple is nothing short of amazing. RTI now has a control driver for Apple TV AND Sonos, both released within a week...

Maybe I'm thick. Probably. I can't get this thing working, and I don't see any instructions on how to pair.

It's documented in the "Get Info" on the Driver on the processor.

I'm not really seeing specifics on their website. Is this for ATV2 ATV3 or both?

So it is. Thanks!

I don't get the instructions..

"To control an ATV, the remote (in this case the driver) must first be paired with the unit.
When the driver starts up, it will broadcast its presence on the local network (don't expect this to work over a WAN!) and the "Remote Name" specified in the driver config will appear under:

Settings -> General -> Remotes

Select the new remote using the ATV IR remote (we're not paired yet!) and it will ask for a PIN code. Set the PIN you specified in the driver config and select DONE.

This will permanently pair the driver with the ATV. A "linked" chain should appear next to the remote on the ATV screen.

Pairing only needs to be done once per ATV and will survive both rebooting the ATV and the XP processor."

When I go to general -> remotes in ATV, I have 3 options

- Upnpair Apple Remote
- Remote App
- Learn Remote

What do I select?

The instructions say "when the driver starts up" does this mean "when the XP boots"?

Can someone point me right direction?

Regards

Mark

Got it working. When I rebooted XP controller, it appeared under the list above.
