Just saw this on the RTI dealer site.

Has anybody used this driver yet? Are there any limitations or does it have all of the features of the sonos app with regard to scrolling through music, etc.

Let me quote RTI Website

Sonos Driver Information:
•The driver is free - There are no licenses to buy, enter, or transfer.
•The Sonos driver allows the processor to control the audio functions of up to 16 media players, including transport controls, volume etc.
•A 'Selected Player' function is included to allow all 16 players to be controlled from a single page of an RTI system.
•The Favorites stored on a Sonos system are available in a constantly updated, dynamic two-way list. Changes to the Favorites stored in the Sonos app appear in the list within 30 seconds.
•Favorites are also available through a series of metadata variables that allow the integrator to create buttons on the panel that show a title, description and artwork for up to 20 of the favorites. These buttons will update as the Favorites List changes.
•A second series of 'Preset Favorites' allows the end user to have a set of buttons that can be reconfigured on the fly. Even the buttons on an RK1 can be changed by the user. The attached sample file includes an iPad page that allows the reconfiguration of an RK1 in the system.
•Players can be grouped and ungrouped. Grouping status variables are also included.
•The line input of any player in the system can be played through any other player in the system.

That explanation is still unclear. It makes it sound like you can only access favorites and cannot browse through songza for example.

Ok, thanks. I wonder if the Nuvo driver is a better solution then.

Nuvo driver is intense for rtipanels. Check out the samples in the driver. We are using the simple version and it give the customer a lot of info.

The only thing the nuvo driver is missing is search. It can do pretty much everything else.

I would only use the nuvo personally. I use the Sonos when the customer already has it.

+1 the Sonos is more for the client who already had Sonos or only wants Sonos. Then at least now they can have some level of Rti control. It also opens up to using Rti for zones with rkm1 keypads for quick basic controls without finding the iPad. It's a nice little upsell to add the processor and keypads in each zone for the convenience it offers the client. And opens the doors to possible automation and universal remote upgrades in other parts of the home.

Has anyone been able to get text meta data ( song. artist) from this app?
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

data is working well from the app to a KX2. The favorite index is a little different.
the first favorite index number is 0. After a Sonos update, I needed to reboot the RTI processor.

Did anyone catch the Sonos Updated driver webinar from 11-17-16?
I missed it and wonder if anyone here watched the webinar?
