We have a system with 3 RP6s in it. 1 each for the Theater and Mbed, a 3rd for the house. We want to add an xp6 in place of 1 RP6 to deploy iPads. Can we trigger system macros on the other 2 RP6s? Or do we need to replace all 3?

I believe you can trigger commands via RS232...I think...

But in the terms of streamlining I would update all to xp6 and utilize the master/slave setup.

This way the whole system will work as one much easier in programming terms.

The rp6 can not receive rs232 codes!

In ID their is a function to generate IR trigger codes for system macros. You need to generate these IR codes then send them from a port on the xp6 to the IR in of the rp6. The IR in is same as the rm433 input terminals

We swapped them all out and are reprogramming Master/Slave.

Just for future reference it is lower in cost to just get 1 XP6 and then add as many ESC2 and PCM4 modules as you need in the remote locations. If you only have a single cat run between RP6 locations you can just convert that to a network feed and you are good to go.

Note if you do not have IP available where you are installing the xp6 you can set all of the RTI stuff to discrete IP addresses and just use a network switch to connect all of your expansion modules, you don't need an internet connection or even a router to do this, it works rock solid.
