Hi,

Looking for some reviews on good, bad and overall opinion of the T2X as there is not much out there.

Also, does the T2X allow sending commands via wifi like RTIPanel (IP Control)?

there sure is a ton on the rti forums about it.

heres an excerpt from my summary post

The downsides are really adding up. I hate to be a whiner nor am I trying to knock RTI here as there are many nice things about it.... but future products won't improve if this stuff isn't talked about. I know its pretty much all been discussed in separate threads but not one specific thread focusing on flaws. Don't want to beat it to death just trying to consolidate issues into one thread.

No home button sucks. (I really like how t3v+ has removable button caps you can swap for things like favs, weather, home, etc)
Awful lcd.
Swipes do not register well at all compared to a modern touchscreen cell phone. This can be very frustrating. I like frames a lot personally I just want the swipe to work like my iPhone.
My tilt sensor doesn't seems as good as compared to my t3v+. If you disable it as a wakeup option gestures won't work.
Gestures don't register well and aren't consistent.
Grip sensor doesn't run up behind lcd so it can turn off on you a lot when trying to use lcd... it drives me nuts so I turn it off.
The charger requires two hands to remove the remote which is lame. Personally I prefer the t3v+ charger setup better.
The power on and off buttons I feel can create customer confusion. When programmed properly with a good design and macros these buttons really aren't needed.
Light bleed around edges of each button on the row directly below LCD
5 way joystick sensitivity issues

Sounds like good idea to skip T2X and wait for the T2X+.

I don't own a T2X, but I received several photos of the screen with my own templates and the ID wizard pages loaded. It seems the LCD can only display 64K colors, which will reduce images and backgrounds that have gradients to the "stepped" look where the colors dramatically change when they are supposed to blend.

So this:

Would look like this on the remote:

I had to run every button and background through a custom filter to reduce the colors with error diffusion to get them to appear normally.

This last image has the same exact color pallet as the second image, just fixed for displays with limited color capabilities:

The same issue also came up with the KX2...

Wow that's great work. That second image def is what the t2x looks like.

The changes you made in last image are fabulous.

gwstudios,
What software program did you use to do that? It looks like the problem can be mostly fixed (the third image) by changing the bitmaps to something the t2x will display better.

I ran every image in the graphic library through a custom script in Paint Shop Pro. Basically the script took the original, reduced it down to a lower color pallet than what the remote could display (32K colors) with "error diffusion" enabled.

Basically they are just dithered images at a much lower color pallet. I recorded the changes I made to one image and saved the script, then applied it to every image in the folder and produced a second folder with the altered images.

The problem was, I had to go back and replace every image in the original template file one by one, page by page. It took a couple hours, but I did this for for the T2-Cs, T2x and KX2 as they all have similar color capabilities.

You can see the effect, but only when zoomed in about 400%
