Is there anyway to reset or modify system macro numbers?
They seem to act like a database. Once they are used they seem to be gone forever.
I deleted 5 or 6 numbers expecting the higher numbers to down trickle to automatically fill in the gaps like page numbers but it didn't happen..
Any help?

Its screwing me up with trying to implement the VMS Driver.

Nope that's the way it works, if it's screwing you up start again and do everything in the order you wish.

Can't say it has ever bothered me.

Their should be no reason this should make VMS not work properly. I've deleted macros on almost every VMS job and it can still function fine. I'd suggest that you first explain the VMS issue with more detail, but more importantly you should post this on the RTI dealer forum. Their is a thread dedicated to the driver which the creator and frequent users post in almost daily. For third party drivers and advanced questions you'll get much better information there

System Macro numbers are not relevant. You can choose to order the list of system macros by name instead of number and that will help you sort out the macros. If you name your VMS system macros such as "Z1-Vol Up", "Z1-Vol Down", "Z1-Mute", "Z2-Vol Up", "Z2-Vol Down", etc. Then all the zone macros will naturally group together. Pay attention to case of the names as well.
Same for source macros...

I do almost same thing however I include the zone name.

Family Room 1 Audio - Volume +

As example. So I include room name, zone number, specify audio or video then the macro name. Everyone will have a slightly different approach but this seems to work well for me.
