Home user here looking for an RTI installer in the Manhattan Beach area of Southern California. Current installer is having problems making the system reliable. He's told me that 4 of the 8 IR ports on my XP-8 are bad. Is that a common occurrence on XP-8 processors? Should I purchase the new XP-8s to replace my 2 year old XP-8?

No and RTI will usually repair it......you can go to rticorp.com and search for a certified dealer in your area.....or contact RTI and ask them to get you in contact with another dealer

Thanks Innovative. Is there a rating system for dealers? I've had 3 different installers now over 2 years time and there seems to be a great deal of variability in the level of programming expertise. Could a bad installation cause IR ports to blow-out?

Im-proper power protection on equipment is most likely the factor causes equipment damages.

Terry is amazing! I don't know CA to know if he's local to manhattan beach but if he's willing to service that area definitely use him! I'm an RTI dealer and have contracted terry to help me with driver development and advanced troubleshooting on several projects over the years.
