Hi guys I am not sure if someone asked the same question before( I apologize if so) Is it possible to create a popup button without a driver just with flags ? If the commands are !MUTEON !MUTEOFF !MUTE? ( status request) = is the proc in mute/YES/NO Many thanks

Considering: Xp ( 2 ways) Rs 232 : string command and status request command How can i create a pop up button variable To get status info ? " if the proc is mute ON= variable is "YES" Thanks

Even with a one way remote, make the button standalone, place a macro on XP for mute on and another for mute off. Now on the button make a macro. Test local flag 1. If set run unmute macro and clear flag, else run mute macro and set flag. Now make your popup, make it standalone and tie it's visible state to local flag 1
With two way remote and XP you can use the two way strings driver to run the test string and base the popup on the feedback.

thanks ! If I use the driver "2 way strings" In that case I presume "Escaped RX string" RX string 1 is !MUTON RX string 2 is !MUTEOFF What about "framing" lines ??? where do I use the "status request command"= !MUTE? Thanks again for your help

If you look at the driver setup it allows you to setup framing if I remember right.
I would think to in your startup macro send the status request, also send when receiver first turns on, and lastly send after each time mute button is pressed. This assures the XP is updated whenever the status may have changed.
