There is a SMTP driver that allows you to send emails

It is an unsupported driver and is located in the unsupported section on the RTI forums site. Do a search for XP8 Email Client.

There's hundreds of ways it can be used. The basic idea is you pre type the email message with who it's to, subject and body of email then this message gets dragged onto a button or into a macro.

So if placed into a macro on the processor it can be triggered by a button press or an event. Events can range from the alarm panel going off, a thermostat reaching a certain temperature, a light being turned on or any other driver sense or time based event you can think of

I use it with security; armed, disarmed, alarm condition. Water sensor in my sump pump well. Temperature sensor for low temp.

It's awesome. RTI forum.

For me every system I do I have a event macro that runs on boot of the xp. This then emails me to tell me a clients processor has rebooted.

Another example is using a driver that pings all the necessary online devices. If a ping isn't returned it emails me saying the kitchen amp is offline, I can then log in or speak to the customer before he has realised something isn't working.

Great stuff when you implement it properly.

startup event, every time the XP-x is powered up the startup event runs. So create a startup macro and have it run from a startup event
