Coming over from URC, I am having a little difficulty understanding their flags. I want to do a simple IF/THEN statement for changing sources using an activity icon. For example, when one is watching TV and want to switch to another source, how can I set up the flags, so it will by pass the power on and 8 second delay and change sources immediately? Would appreciate all comments. Thanks.

If power on = true> switch then input of the tv and receiver else> run the entire source select macro.

Sorry. The above is based on two way feed back. This is how I would do it if using flags. First you would have to create the variable "flag"you want to use. Say for example you call it " System Power On". You would put a programming command in your source select macro called "set flag" and select your variable. On your activities buttons is where you would use the command " test flag" which creates the conditional. On system power off you would put a command in that macro called "clear flag" and select your variable. So basically an activity button would look like the following:

If flag " whatever you call it" is set:
Select " input whatever on your tv"
Select " input whatever on you receiver"
Else
Run the entire source select macro
Set flag "whatever you named it"

Even better if using two way. Many people think that the only advantage of two way control is getting feedback on screen, but the real advantage is checking the status of certain functions (like input, power, volume, etc.)

Use the system variable test and drag in the appropriate arguments from the driver. For example "if receiver power is true (no delay) else 4 sec. delay" etc.

They go over this in detail in any dealer training.

+1 Vincent. Using two way unlocks tons of doors here and will also start to show you how much more powerful RTI can be over URC!
