Hi,

I've only ever worked with Logitech and Pro control programming.

My company is an RTI dealer and I need to learn how to program the latest products to work my way up the ladder. With that said;

What is the best way to learn how to program the remotes (mainly touch screen) from start to finish (not just stealing pages from past profiles). Would also like to know how to do the iPad interfaces. Mostly will be working with basic systems like a few TV's with corresponding set top boxes, theaters, and some lighting and automation. I have watched a few videos on youtube but they were already quite far into the programming I found.

I think I have a pretty good idea of how to create the pages and macro's for the RTI remotes.

Any other tips would be great.

Thanks,

-Ryan

Login to the dealer website, navigate to training, and watch the pre-recorded video trainings.

All the info you requested is there.

Good luck, and welcome to RC!

See if you can get the boss to buy some product as well. No better teacher than doing it yourself. If you can do this at home or a test bench it helps the learning process.

This is true. I actually bought a T2C and a RP1 on ebay for myself a while back to begin learning. It doesn't have any of the 2-way capabilities of course, but it does give a start into the RTI world of programming. Being able to test what you program is essential. Good luck.

Great suggestions. RTI has a very aggressive dealer program where you can get product for self or employee use. Attend a training program at your local distributor or supplier as the interactive / ability to ask questions is useful. Most of all, you can't learn RTI without a lot of work on the field, practice and making mistakes. Learn the product line and how it can make life easier for you on the field. Good luck, it's a great product.

Attend Trainings, watch videos but most of all take advantage of some of the dealer programs to help you get a xp3 and just sit home and play!! Just make a virtual panel and use that xp3 to test drivers and ideas. You'll pickup quick.

Join the RTI dealer forum! It's a very active community of some serious dealers and newbies alike. This isn't just an amazing resource for help with your systems but the only place you can get third party drivers.

Also if you're ever stuck or get a job you feel is over your skill level I do programming for other dealers. Drop me an email [email protected]
