Hello to all on the forum!

I have a question concerning my RTI controller setup at my house. I just recently replaced the RTI T2-C with Logitech Harmony Ultimate (which so far I'm obsessed with).

I'm looking to "de-part" my current RTI componenents and get rid of any part that my system does not necesarrily need, yet I'm hesistant to do so because I'm not sure if certain parts may conflict and cause other issues to arise.

Currently I have:

RTI T2-C Remote Control
RTI Model RP1 Remote Control Processor
RTI Model ECB-5 IR Emitter Connecting Block
RTI Model CB-4 Connecting Block

I have a Yamaha A/V Receiver and a Denon Multi-Zone A/V Receiver for my other rooms.

I'm worried that if I were to strip all these parts, particularily the CB-4, that I would be unable to use the functionality of my in-wall system controllers (which I'm not sure are RTI or not) I don't even really use these controllers but does their functionality depends on the CB-4.

I'll be putting these up for sale the minute I figure it out so if anyone is interested in the Los Angeles area please contact me.

Please help a lost soul!

Thanks!

The installs are RTI, they are connected to the CB-4, although that's usually connected to a RP-6 or XP-8. The RP-1 should be hooked up to the ECB-5. If the CB-4 is also hooked up to the ECB-5, then it has to stay too. You can defiantly sell the T2-C and RP-1 as a package.

How much do you want for them?

From my research looks they (Remote T2-C with charger and RP-1) value at about and since you were the first to reply and break it down I can offer them to you for $200. Otherwise I'll be selling them for $240 OBO.

That's definitely a first for me.....someone had to of written a bad RTI program...I would hang on to the equipment so when the limitations of the harmony pop out you don't have to start over

Yea but what good is the remote to someone who's not a certified programmer. Why is RTI so exclusive I've looked far and wide to obtain the software but to no avail.

If you are a dealer you can become authorized. Contact your distributor.

If you are and end user/consumer the software is not available to you.

Logitech cannot hold a candle to what you can do with RTI but indeed it is an end user customizable product. Just follow the bouncing ball software.

Good Luck.

It might help you if you think of RTI like Apple. Every publisher and every App that is published on the App Store has to go through a vetting process. Like Apple, RTI wants to protect its brand by only allowing professionals to publish "apps" on their hardware.

If someone publishes an App for your iPhone or iPad that you really like and then goes out of business, you can't just get the source code and keep maintaining the App. At least with RTI, you can (hopefully) find another programmer to maintain your system.

The goal isn't to screw the end user, but rather provide the best chance for the best possible experience with the product. It takes a considerable time investment to get good with this stuff.

Better hang on to the Rti stuff, don't even try doing multizone on a harmony... Never works consistantly. Invest on some programming instead. On the other hand, if you still want to downgrade to harmony, PM me. I'm interested in you rti stuff.

That's a bad analogy. Anyone can get the Apple dev tools and develop an IOS/OSX app as side hobby. There's some regulation in publishing that app to a wider audience, but if one runs through enough hoops, it can be done.

There is no equivalent hobby path for RTI. There is a strict requirement to be a dealer in the primary business of selling/supporting RTI.

The arguments whether the RTI approach is good or bad have taken place many times on this forum. Anyone interested can do a search. Whichever camp one falls under, it's not the Apple model.
