i have had my rti for sometime and it had worked flawlessly from the start, but now everything seems to be erased the only thing i can get to come up on the lcd is the main menu page [which is blank] and the control panel pages. the person who sold me the remote and did the programing is no longer in business so i cant get any help from him. anyone else have a problem like this? any answers as to why? can i reprogram it myself? thanks to all

I experienced the same problem two days ago and that is why I am here looking for an answer. I tried reading the data from the remote into the PC but no luck it craps out.

I lost the backup otherwise it would have been eazy to reprogram. Now I will have to reprogram the entire thing agains!... I hate this

I do not know why it stopped working...

This is why I always give my customers a copy of there remote on disk.

Regarding david3dogs
Lets get this straight, you can hold the back light key and get to the control panel page, but, there is no image when you press the main menu button?

If the remote is still functional, YES you yourself can program it,

Do you have the manual?

Do you have the interface cable?

Have you downloaded the latest software and IR files from www.rticorp.com

Did you know that any one can build a system file for your T2 remote and just e-mail you the EXE. file over the net, which you can simply download into your remote yourself?

Regarding- dharsihm, Please describe in detail "craps out"

We have had several customers experience this same problem. RTI T2 have defective touchscreens. Good luck calling them. When you can get someone on the phone you should be OK, it is tiresome getting through however. Pretend you are about to call Microsoft with a problem, I.E. plan on spending some time. Your program is probably OK but see if they can recover it and email it to you so you always have a copy!!

Just got started to program again and this time I will back up the rti file on a cd!.. I guess sometime we learn the hard way.. As a software engineer, I should have known better...When ever I write software for windows platform exclusively I have multiple backup on differnt media, Jazz, CD and the obqitous floppy!.. I thought I had backuped the rti file!..
