I need help from anyone willing.I was an integrator about ten years ago. I became a manufacturers trainer (Niles and Colorado vNet) and have not programmed any RTI stuff. I had reprogrammed her Colorado vNet system and she asked if I could change some codes on her RTI . She changed Directv STD to an HD box. I think by what I can recall it looked like one of the TC-2 models. Is there a manual available can it be manually programmed or do I need the Integration Designer software with cable. I don't have either.I have friends who work at many manufacturers but not RTI. The original programmer on this job is nowhere to be found. Can someone help me help her?

Did you program RTI back then?

I became a manufacturers trainer (Niles and Colorado vNet) and have not programmed any RTI stuff.

I guess that answers my first question. I didn't realize the two companies shared a training department. Also, what are you doing now? Are you even still in the industry?

I had reprogrammed her Colorado vNet system and she asked if I could change some codes on her RTI .

Who is this lady you are refering to?

She changed Directv STD to an HD box. I think by what I can recall it looked like one of the TC-2 models.

No such beast exists, however they do have a T-2+, T-2C, T-2Cs, T-2CZ, T-2C+, and a T-2Cs+.

Is there a manual available can it be manually programmed or do I need the Integration Designer software with cable.

This looks like a run on sentence, but sounds like three questions.
1. There is a manual.
2. No, it can not be programmed manually.
3. Yes, you need Integration Designer and a USB cable.

I don't have either.

You don't have a USB cable?

I have friends who work at many manufacturers but not RTI.

That's nice, but not relevant to your issue.

The original programmer on this job is nowhere to be found.

OK, so have you or this mystery lady tried to find a new programmer?

Can someone help me help her?

Yes, another RTI dealer in the area.

Where are you located? Without the software no one can help you unless they come to the jobsite...

Thanks to all for chiming in. Its nice to know most long time and junior members are really interested in helping. I guess I opened up a can of it by giving details (relevant or not).
Jeff is it? You so funny... thanks for your input. You really do sound like a "Super Member"! I hope the following answers  most of your questions.
  • Never programmed RTI
  • Programmed Crestron, AMX, Pronto, Intellicontrol, even X10,
  • Installer/tech/programmer for 15 years prior to work at Niles '03-"07
  • vNet Trainer/ Support '07-'11
  • Not a trunk slammer trying to weasle in on someone elses RTI territory. just trying to help a customer.
  • I live in CO and help out locals stranded by defunct vNet dealers.
  • I have moved to the commerical side working for manufacturer of Commercial automation and BMS's  (monitoring solutions) primarily for Data and Telecom industries.
  • "She" is stranded vNet/RTI customer who I was trying to help.
  • Unfortunately "she" wasn't able to find a competent RTI dealer in the area.
  • I did find dealer willing to lend me his credentials in order to get the job done.
  • She had several systems with both T-2+'s, T-2Cs, RP-1, and ZRP-6 controllers
  • Required USB standard  and USB-Mini cables.
  • Mentioned industry connections only to pre-empt a suggestion that I call one of my indusrty contacts. Not completey irrelevant.
  • If anyone knows of a competent RTI programmer in Northern CO I would be happy to pass on all futre business. I get a lot of requests because the former vNet dealer in this area sold a lot of RTI and they no longer have a programmer to support thier existing busness. I am not interested nor do I have the time to take it on. Contact me if you are interested.

If you had stated all that originally, you would have received more help, instead it sounded like you were a former CI wanting to bypass the correct channels to get the software. We get enough end-users trying to get their hands on the software, and nothing stops them from lying about who they are.

As far as anyone knowing a competent RTI programmer in your area, who did RTI suggest when you called them, or looked up on their "find a dealer" section of their website that Hertz was nice enough to provbide a link to.

BTW, I expect a reply in a week or so. We like to not have responses to our attempts at help for a week or more. ;)~

Remember you can not upload an rti system. Their is a system recovery wizard which does not support all rti apps and doesnt always work 100%.

With respect due to ralliart329 (who truly seemed to want to offer help at the time) I am responding immediately.
Jeff, While I I understand your guarded approach(I've been there) You seemed pretty quick to jump on me without provocation. You might have checked my profile and join date before b1tch slapping me with your condescending line of questioning, sentence structure critique and accusations of having an inadequate cable. ;-)
Re: Local dealer. The only local one that shows up within (20 miles) is out of business the next closest is 50 miles and couldn't make for a few weeks with a $200 trip charge + time. They obviously were not interested in the work.

On a serious note thanks to all for your input. (even you Jeff)
Esp. Alex Thanks for the heads up on the wizard. I found out (the hard way) the limits of the wizard which I was forced to use to get it done. Basically reprogrammed that system from scratch because of incompatibility issue.
