I am not an RTI expert and need help. I can muddle through a single setup, but I have a potential client that has a house and a Guest House. The Guest House has RTI and the Main House URC. The Guest house system is working great off the ipad and she wants to duplicate the controls in the main house.
Can I talk to two XP-8 processors at the same time with the control app on the ipad?

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

YEP. Assuming both houses are on the same LAN\Subnet? Just make sure to update to the latest firmware and ID. They just added this feature in 8.3.

PM me if you need any help.

Remember one button can not send commands to both processors at same time.

I always try and use 1 processor . But it really depends on the system . Are the main house and guest house going to be stand alone systems .

Yes you can, as long as:

both processors and iPad's/remotes are in the same system file
that both processors are on the same network.

If this is not the case there is a driver available that allows two XP processors to talk to each other.

I have used this driver to great success and highly recommend the programmer Terry as well.

Cool. thanks for the quick answers. The URC will be removed. They are independent systems, but some buttons would be common for turning on/off the systems (party music) and mute.

I'll be back with more questions when i am onsite early next month.

I'm just finishing up one with 5 XP processors, 5 T2Cs+'s, and 4 iPads, all talking to each other. 10x14 Kramer HDMI matrix in one rack, a 4x8 VGA matrix in another rack, a 4 panel NEC video wall, 5 TVs out back, along with another 5 TVs scattered around, all in a house.

Why would you use 5 processors?

I just did an estimate for a house of similar size (roughly $300,000 project in total) and will be using 2 processors. with the speed of the xp6 and haveing the ESC-2 and PCM-8 to add ports its more trouble then its worth to add more processor and share all of the variables between processor with rs232 devices...

Let's see, the ESC-2 was not shipping when we speced this house, we are using a PCM8 in the rack, but also have 4 XP-3's in the rooms that have their own systems. Besides, there were no extra Cat5e lines at the locations, (this was a remodel), after switches and baluns were installed.

That makes sense. Ididnt mean it to be rude, but ive spoked to alot of dealers who way underutilize these processors. Ive run small houses with just an xp3. With an xp6 you can basically run a mansion at this point as long as you dont have too many rtipanels and go over in memory.

I use the snap av baluns now. So one processor in the rack and you can send ir up on the same cat6 (or cat5) as the balun. Then the ecb5 doesnt even need power so plug it in to the balun at the tv end and you have 5 ir ports at each tv location..

Each iPad only needs one license, and it will be tied to only one processor. You can get the cost from your distributor.

A license is system wide. So it is per ipad regardless of the number of processors. Pricing available on the dealer website...

You currently cannot download the rtipanel when you do a system recover.
