We have a client with an XP-8 processor and his shading person is going to add Somfy LT-30 battery powered motors and RTS RF control.

I was told by Somfy that we can use the Universal RTS Interface II unit with the XP-8 and control the shades via RF.

Does anybody have experience with the set-up?

Thank for the advice in advance!

Looking at the cut sheet of the Somy RTS Interface it should work. Run and rs-232 from xp-8 to RTS Interface and then it spits out the required RF for the shades.

THere is also a Somfy interface unit that uses 3 contacts for controlling open, close and stop. I used the 3 relay outputs of an RP6 with the unit and it controls our sunsetter awning :) Pretty cool to be able to control it from an in-wall. Also, it the weather drives detects wind over a certain MPH, I have automatically close ;)

Unit works fine, extremely easy to setup.

Have to bring this up :)

I use a Universal RTS Interface II with XP-3 on RS232 connection. The weird thing is, that the Universal RTS Interface II works some minutes and after that it stops sending signals.

As if the RS232 connection is closed or something. The red LED is not flashing anymore. The XP-3 is sending out commands though and the Universal RTS Interface II hardbuttons do also work.

Selector is in 1 position.

Any idea what's going on?

I did find the problem.

By mistake i used a 12V instead of the 9V AC adapter. Now it works fine.
