I've had a T2 since about the first day that they were sold. My T2 batteries have been slowly going belly-up, and now my charger has also bitten the dust. Thanks for nothing, RTI won't sell me new ones (funny business model -- a company that looks and acts like it's going out of business). Does anyone know where I can get new ones? Or do I have to bite the bullet and get a Pronto?

A lot of what RTI sells comes off some one elses shelf. As far as I can tell, these are NiMH cell phone/ walkie takie batteries and could be reconditioned with the correct 4.8volt DC charger. Ill bet we can find the maker on the net some place, then we can buy direct from the source.

I'm getting there. One's good for a half day, the other one is still good for a week, so at least I have a couple hours to recharge the good one while the bad one quickly self-discharges.
Please let us know if you come up with an alternative - I'll do the same.

What was their reason for not selling a customer new batteries? Are they providing any service for owners of the TT?

They finally gave me (by e-mail) the name of a "dealer" in my area, who told me that he does not "sell to the public." They also gave me a "customer service" number that I could use to order from RTI, but noone ever seems to be at that number.
I gave-up and bought a Pronto Pro. I'd still like to get new batteries so that I can salvage this $600 remote for the bedroom.

I just looked them up on USWESTDEX and it appears that their World Headquarters building is about a 3 minute drive from my house so I'll check it out next week and get back to you guys. I exchanged emails with them breifly when the product was released (was it that long ago wow!). It was just too spendy for me or my customers and I suspect that remains the problem.

I have original RTI batteries and buy them frequentally for my customers. If you like I can supply you with one. I recommend getting TWo. One to use and one to charge. They are $49.98 each. thank you [email protected]
