I plan to retire my trusty 6 year old Marantz RC2000 in favor of RTI remote.
My PC's serial port is now occupied by my PDA and I plan to get USB to serial port adaptor to add another serial port for the RTI.
I see three kind of adaptors:
USB to DB25 Serial adaptor
USB to DB9 Serial Adaptor
USB to serial RS232 adaptor ([Link: cablemax.com])
At no place in the RTI manual pdf the other end of the serial cable for connection to PC is described.
Anone using the RTI know what kind of adaptor I would need?
Thanks in advance.

Ash,

The serial connecter on the programming cable is a DB9.

If you only have one open serial port on you PC, one option would be to use a serial switch box to switch between the your PDA and the T2 since you will not need to be connected to the T2 very often.

USB to serial adapters should work. We are in the process of testing some; we will let you know the outcome.
