Anybody out there have any help on how i can set up a basic HVAC (forced air heat and cool) system with temperature control as opposed to just a Setback. I would like some sort of Temperature reading showing on the Touchscreen and be able to raise and lower the temperature. Like i said basic.

First off, it will be difficult to advise you without knowing what kind of equipment you are using? As far as I know the only option for thermastat control with RTI now is using an XP-8 with the aprilaire two-way driver.

Since you need 2-way you will need an XP-8 (there is no driver for the ZRP-6) and a 2-way capable controller. As well you have to use an Aprilaire 8870 and protocol converter. You can increase and decrease temperature settings and get present and set temperature feedback.

Thank you for the input. its the perfect starting point. I have been meaning to add HVAC control to systems (more than the basic setback ) functions. the aprilaire converter, is that a 485 to rs232? and is that the same "2 way driver" as CHaseM had mentioned?
Again guys thanks for the input.
