Does anyone have any experience with the XP8 not sending IR commands? If I send any IR command, nothing happens.

Antenna blinks, emitters blink, no response from any equipment. I disabled IR pass through and nothing blinks. Its almost like the IR commands are getting lost.

Lastest firmware installed. Rm433 swapped and hookup checked. I am using known good codes and macros. I installed an RP1 and the programming works fine, but of course loose IR routing and other functionality.

It had to be an out of town job. Any ideas?

Are you sure you have your routing setup correctly??

my XP-8 flashes my 2 blink emitters(I hate them) even when i amd sending codes to another port

Also make sure your jumpers are plugged in all the way
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

Yeah, it doesn't even work with codes assigned to all ports.

Your XP8 flashes the blink emitters because IR pass through is turned on. If you turn it off, that blink will go away.

Checked the jumpers too.

I am afraid its bad unfortunately.

I am using t2b remotes, but they are fine. I tried loading known similar systems into the XP8 and they don't work either. Loaded into the Rp1, it works except for routing.

I really believe the XP8 is bad. I have eliminated everything but it, I believe. Tried multiple antennas, emitters, loaded the programming over network and usb, check connections over and over.

I would send you the file, but I have a pretty standard system and layout I use regularly and the old files won't work either. That tells me it is either hookup, which I have looked at multiple times or defective. Agree?

I have had something similar happen when the XP8 said it didnt need to be uploaded after a change so I only uploaded the remote and had a similar issue. Forced the XP8 upload and it worked.

Now idea though without seeing the file. Bueno suerte.

Have you made a small test program to run?
Load just a few buttons to control a cable box or other device. Turn everything on manually and only test the 1 device with the new program.
Make sure you remove power and reset the XP-8 before reloading the files.
I have seen both RP6 and XP8 "lock up" because of a bad code in a file. Once that happens nothing works, yet it all looks like it should.

I just ran into a similar problem today. Working on setting up 1 way RS232 commands from a new XP-8. Commands are the same as I have used in another project, and I have confirmed with manufacture that nothing has changed. Check all cables and connectors, nothing.
So to test the XP-8 I made a small project with just a receiver we have in our boardroom that was running IR from an RP-6. Moved the ir eye to the XP-8 programmed a few buttons (ON / OFF etc). RM433 lights up, so do the correct ir ports and no control.
Tested IR codes in standalone and receiver works fine.
Checked T2-C remote, and xp-8, both have latest firmware.
Have to talk to RTI tomorrow.
