this is done by cardaccess, I know Crestron and AMX have been doing that for a while now, and yes I know it's nothing new since RTI can check the status of locks and lights etc via two way, however I wish it could be done in this design, I mean having the house drawing on the screen ..

You sure can. But not in an app like that. You will have to make it yourself, though.

I haven't used the DSC Security panels before but I'm sure I could get it too work for both the Motion side along and lighting using a homeworks system.

Only problem is the homes I do wont fit on a 640x480 screen

DSC makes it possible for control 4 to do a lot of what they do, and since DSC is two way with RTI we can do the same things. Further some of this can be done simply with proximity sensors.

Just build the floor plan in photo shop, I have already been doing this for years with RTI by putting transparent buttons over the floor plan set as a background

I dont believe there is a 2 way driver available for ELK. The question was asked in a recent webinar I took. It also didn't sound like it was something that was being worked on.

On a brighter note, they did say a SDK will be available that will allow a third party to write their own driver. That will open up the door to endless possibilities.

They are doing the same thing in the C4 video. Your method is just as easy as using the Control4 app and it will work just as well except you have to rely on an RTI driver vs a Control4 "app". RTI might even be better since you are not confined to the functionality of the app.

Someone builds a floor plan in photoshop and imports it into RTI (or any 2way control system UI software). Then you use button tools to create "overlays" for the rooms. When these buttons go high because of motion or water or whatever.. the button changes states and the room "lights up".

We use icons for different things like motion or water etc. The inactive state of the button is transparent and the active state is the icon for motion or an open window or whatever.

I intend to have it done in the new (3rooms) showroom i'm acquiring in midyear so I think it the screen should be big enough for now, I am not too crazy about the T4 design/look only wish the ST7 could be out by then..
