I realize this is an opinion oriented question, however i am looking for some feedback to back up your statements.

Looking to setup several TV's (46"+) to an xp8 and T2c. Want to know which TV's people use and why, which manufactures give good tech support (or lack of). Which codes are easily available etc etc.

The best ones they dont make anymore. Panasonic comerical models, great picture, reliable and super easy Serial itegration. Pioneer which they dont make anymore, has a big lag between boot up and control. Could go Sony, or Aquos Never got into the samsung serial universe but there seems to be a lot of people trying to figure this out.

There are of course several IR paths as well that work

LG is easy to control. Plasmas have 2 year warranty. If this is a commercial project probably Panasonic Commercial, or NEC.

I would stay away from Sharp for serial command:

couple of years ago I tried to control a Sharp LCD with RS232 and noticed there are no serial commands for volume up or down: you can only program specific volume levels in db

so without 2 way drivers it is pretty useless: went back to IR

Panasonic pro series. As for service, don't know, never had to call them.

I believe some of the newer consumer Panasonic sets now have serial control too, I wouldn't hesitate to use them either.

Sharp works but you have to disable the green feature or the 232 port shuts off along with the power- Genius!

Anybody know if this is true? The consumer panasonic has rs-232.

Going to call them
