Depending on where you sit and other components you might want to consider an infrared repeater system as the T2 range is a little short. Otherwise it is a pretty good remote.

Tom: My T2 works just fine: except for one problem every thing that did not work at first was a problem in my program or bad codes. The only thing I can lay at the foot of the T2 is that when the battery gets close to recharge time but before the low battery indicator shows equipment stops responding. Now that I know this I can just swap the battery early, a small complaint in light of how well it works otherwise. KDM

Duke how long does the charge last? Or how often do you change batteries. Thanks tom

Tom: Don't keep close track of the time interval but it depends on usage. It seems that programing runs down the battery quick. I'm also having a bit of a new problem that may be related to low battery (see my post of 12/25/01). Duke

Based on my experience with this unit, most likely the battery level has nothing whatsoever to do with the intermittent lack of response.
The unit will at times just stop outputting a signal. I have tried to solve this one for many months and have finally gone back to my old Pronto.

In general, I love the T2. But many people (myself included) have problems with its RF and IR range. I finally got the RF to work reliably (by using a high-gain antenna and placing it strategically) and it worked fine that way for many months, then recently it suddenly stopped working reliably. I haven't yet figured out the problem. I also haven't called RTI yet, but from this board it sounds like that may not do me too much good.
This is truly upsetting to me because I don't know of another remote I'd rather have, even if it was free.

As far as battery charge intervals, mine last about a week of fair use. However, one has gone off and now only lasts about two days tops, a pain but way enough to get the good one charged.
I get the occassional lack of response from a button, but the only one I might replace it with may be the HTM MX-700 if it ever comes out and becomes available.
Cheers / DJ
