Has anyone seen or heard of this happening?? Customer had a dead remote that was covered under warranty so we sent it out waited 5-6 weeks and they sent it back. Reinstall is on monday, so I opened the box to inspect the remote (been burned enough over the years to trust something back from service) I open it up and there is someone elses program on it and the buttons are peeling. I really want to like this company but they are making it really hard for me. 800.00$ remotes with the buttons peeling?? too much more and stop will be completely clear....

I've got a ton of T2C remotes out there and have experienced just about every issue they have had... never seen the buttons pealing.

Sounds to me like they sent you someone else's remote. Honest mistake?

It would make more sense if you called RTI and explained the situation to them, give them a chance to say "oops" and fix the problem... before you open up a can of sh*t on a public forum.

The fact that it has someone else's program on it tells me that its a goof.

Alot of times they will give you a refurb unit. In those caes you get the stock demo programming that comes on the unit. As far as buttons peeling, I have never seen that one either.

It is very likely, and hopefully that they loaded a demo program to test the remote out before sending it back. Do you have the serial number for the unit? My distributor notes them on the invoices, so you might be able to go back and check to see if it is the same one you sent in.

I haven't had any buttons that pealed off, but have had some the seemed to rub off, mostly on the edges of the buttons. Had this happen on several remotes, but only after a lot of use. Have had same issue with URC and other remotes.

Had this happen on early T2Cs buttons . None lately. They do send back refurbs in some cases. You did not send in a DOA, so that should not be an issue getting back a different remote. Sometimes you get one back in better condition.

I can confirm a client of ours with a T2Cs that had this issue. we sent it in, it was covered under warranty. it was only less than a month old...never saw anything like it...not sure if it was sent back with a new serial or not. but it was the 2nd time sending it back to RTI.....
