I have tried to learn the codes over and over and cannot get the IR codes to learn correctly for the Cisco RNG-200. The IR database in ID doesn't work correctly. If you have a good IR database for this device please send me a link or email them to me. I can't stand Comcast!!!!!!

This has been gone over many times. You can't learn the IR codes from the remotes, our current IR learnes aren't capable of receiving the codes from these new remotes yet. (new Cisco UVere, and FIOS boxes)

there is nohing wrong with the IR codes on ID7, I and many othes have used them many times without a problem. Do you think that there is some other issue?
IR turned too high or low?
Wrong output?
Not in stand-alone mode?
Emitter not in correct place on front of unit?
Bad emitter?
Bad box?

All the other issues are fine. I have had this problem several times and normally just take the box back to comcast and switch it to the Scientific Atlanta 8300hdc and have no problem. It is something to do with the ir reciever on the cisco rng200 box itself. I am looking for a good way to fix the issue for good.

I'm using the same Comcast boxes that you are, and haven't had any problems with the codes in the database.

In the Master List, I use Comast cable box RNG-200 for everything except play,( they stll aven't added it). Then I pull play from the tweak version right underneath it.

I have tried the master codes and they don't work with the rng-200. I have used the master codes for the rng-150 and those are fine. I have talked to other poeple who are having the same issue with no solution. I would just like to find a solution. Are you pluging into the IR in on the box or are you using an immitter?

Using an emitter, I have heard a few times that the IR port on the back isn't active.

I have tried the port with no success. I am using an emitter with the master codes from Integration Designer with no success either. I have tried to learn the codes with the IR Pro from RTI with no success. I have read on this site and others that this particular box (Cisco RNG-200) IR tolerance is very low and the way the IR Pro averages the IR codes when you learn them it wont work. Just trying to find a solution instead of replacing every one of those boxes.

All I know about the RNG200 is this:
1.IR port on rear is turned off.
2.No current IR learners can learn the codes from this box's remotes.
3.The codes from the master list have worked for me every time.

mine is working fine (RNG 150) using the codes from the RTI master list for the RNG 200 and an emitter directly over the IR eye

do not use the rear IR port: that is an OUTPUT for an emitter to control a DVR

for a channel macro, be sure you use the default delay between commands

codes learned with the IR Pro do not work as others have mentioned

I have done the same thing with the RNG-150 with no problems, but for some stupid reason the RNG-200 has given me fits at 5 different customers houses. I have eventually just taken the boxes and traded for the Scientific Atlanta 8300HDC. I was just trying to find a solution to this problem for good.
